Nattha (Nutthaporn) Thammathi was born on July 14th, 1988, and graduated from the College of Music, Mahidol University under the instruction of Tsui-Ping Nancy Wei. He was considered a Scholarship Student from Mahidol University, Thailand, to study at Mozarteum University, Salzburg, Austria, with Univ. Prof. Mario Diaz, where Nutthaporn earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees.

Biography

On November 21st, 2009, Nattha had the honor of performing with the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra (BSO) as a soloist in the “Ruen Rudee Concert” to celebrate the 84th Birthday Anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Bejaratana at the Main Hall, Thailand Cultural Centre, with Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsavali as a guest of honor.

On September 29th, 2010, Nattha had the greatest honor of performing as a soloist with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra in the “Siriraj Concert in Honor of the Great Artistic Monarch,” for His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, with Her Majesty Queen Sirikit and Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in attendance. Nattha performed His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej's composition “Kwam-Fhun-Aun-Soong-Sood (The Impossible Dream)” at the Royal Medical College auditorium, Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.

From October 2011 to June 2012, Nattha was a 9-month scholarship student at Mozarteum University, Salzburg, Austria, with Univ. Prof. Mario Diaz under the Thai-Austrian Student Scholarships of ASEAN-UNINET. 

In July 2015, Nattha was one of the quarterfinalists of Operalia 2015, in London, founded by Plácido Domingo. Since 2013, Nattha performed many roles such as Rodolfo in La Bohème by Puccini, Alfredo in La Traviata by Verdi, Don José in Carmen by Bizet, Tito in La Clemenza di Tito by Mozart, Faust in Faust by Gounod, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi by Puccini, Nerone in L’incoronazione di Poppea by Monteverdi, Nemorino in L’elisir D’amore by Donizetti, Cavaradossi in Tosca by Puccini, Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni, Hoffmann in Les Contes d’Hoffmann by J. Offenbach, Assad in die Königin von Saba by Karl Goldmark, and Der blinde Schwertrichter in Das Wunder der Heliane by Korngold at Theater Freiburg, which includes a CD recording with Naxos Music Library for both operas.

In 2019/20 season, Nattha Thammathi debuted as a member of the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe ensemble in the title role of Gounod’s Faust. Since then, he appeared in roles such as Camille de Rosillon in Die lustige Witwe, Andres in Wozzeck, Narraboth in Salome, Steuermann in Der fliegende Holländer, and Il Podestà in La Finta Giardiniera. This season, he sings as Rodolfo in La Bohème, Ismaele in Nabucco, and Walther von der Vogelweide in Wagner’s Tannhäuser.

 

In August 2023, he appeared as Mario Cavaradossi with Den Jysk Opera, Aarhus, Denmark with José Cura as the stage director, conducted by Vinzenzo Milletarì.

In July 2024, he performed as Pollione in Norma with Opera på skäret, staged by Alexander Niclasson and conducted by Michael Balke

Later in March, he made his successful role debut as Wagner’s Lohengrin at the Lviv Opera House (Lviv, Ukraine).
